Active and Empathic Listening Skills

Training Objectives:
At the end of this training, participants are expected to:
demonstrate at least three key techniques of active listening (e.g., paraphrasing, asking open-ended questions, and providing non-verbal feedback) in a simulated conversation with a peer;
differentiate between active listening and passive listening and identify at least two situations where each type of listening is appropriate in both professional and personal contexts; and
practice empathic listening by accurately reflecting emotions and summarizing key points during a paired exercise, receiving feedback on their effectiveness.
